Shri Amit Kumar Sharma, an accomplished officer of the Indian Revenue Service (IRS - IT) from the 2004 batch, currently serves as the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Ramagundam Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited (RFCL), a Joint Venture Company of NFL, EIL & FCIL.
With over two decades of distinguished service, Shri Sharma has held pivotal roles, including Commissioner of Income Tax and Executive Director at the Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) under the Ministry of Commerce. His efforts in digitizing tax collection, streamlining property tax systems, and enhancing public service delivery have significantly improved transparency and operational efficiency in civic administration. His exemplary leadership in skill development, which resulted in the enhanced employability of over 3 lakh youth during his tenure at FDDI, earned him the FICCI Leapvault Skills Champion of India Award.
At the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Shri Sharma held key administrative roles, including Additional Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner (Central Zone), Deputy Commissioner (Shahdara North Zone), and Assessor & Collector (SDMC). During his tenure, he led impactful initiatives for drastically improving urban hygiene, enhancing public grievance redressal mechanisms, and promoting civic responsibility.
His contributions extended beyond routine governance, reflecting a deep commitment to national service and social responsibility through public awareness campaigns, community engagement, and cleanliness drives. Shri Sharma also championed mutual respect and harmony through innovative, inclusive initiatives, reinforcing a culture of unity and shared responsibility.
An engineering graduate in Instrumentation & Control from Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT), Delhi University, Shri Sharma has also received advanced training in international taxation, public policy, and organizational leadership at premier institutions, including the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Indian School of Business (ISB), and Duke University, USA.
Widely traveled, he has represented India at numerous international forums and undertaken professional assignments across the USA, Canada, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, South Africa, Ethiopia, UAE, and Malaysia, enriching his global perspective on governance and institutional growth.
In his current role as CVO of RFCL, Shri Sharma continues to champion transparency, integrity, and good governance, fostering a culture of accountability and ethical conduct. He firmly believes that cultivating a positive attitude and mindset is essential to the institution's growth and success, inspiring optimism and resilience across the organization.
